PALGN writes: "It's quite rare for a launch title for a console to go on to become a franchise. Some titles however are exceptions to this rule, such as Halo and MotorStorm. MotorStorm was launched alongside the PlayStation 3 in 2007 and despite the fact that the game was missing some fundamental features (such as a split screen option), the game was a lot of fun both critically and commercially. Last year Sony released the sequel, Pacific Rift which was just as much fun. PlayStation 2 and PSP owners have so far unfortunately had to watch from the sidelines as PlayStation 3 owners harp on about the series, but they won't have to wait much longer, as MotorStorm Arctic Edge is a brand new entry in the series and it's exclusive to the PlayStation 2 and the PSP."
