Ars Technica writes, "The flagging economy hasn't affected game or hardware sales in the US... yet. The NPD Group has released its sales numbers for October, the first month in the all-important fourth quarter, and they remain impressive across the board. Sales are up 18 percent over last year, and year to date numbers are up 25 percent. If lower consumer spending will affect gaming, it hasn't happened yet. Oh, and the Xbox price cut?
