Hi. I bought swapmagic I while ago and have been using it to play ps2 imports and copys with no problem. When i first recieved it they sent 2 discs. I just assumed one was for ps2 and the other for ps1, but I actually only found out today that swapmagic is not compatible with ps1 games.

I just wanted a second opinin on whether that is true?

And also what do I need in order to play copied, and import ps1 games?

Yeah mod your ps2 and you will safe with every game that is there either a bootleg or a copied game in a cd or dvd. cracking alone has lots of compatibility issues.

The previous posts are all wrong.
Swap Magic is used for only ps2 games.
The other disk is for ps2 games that are burned on cd's.

i heard that one swap magic disc was for games burned with a dvd, and the other was for cd.

to play backup, or different region ps1 games on a slim ps2, i tape and tissue "modded" my ps2 slim. this voids your warrenty, though. anyway, after i did that, i learned the double swap for ps1, and wanted to do it with my slim ps2 for PS1 games. it wont work with ps2 games.

also, instead of double swapping, you only need to swap once.

anyhow, to play backup ps1 games w/ slim ps2, after it has been "tape and tissued", play an original ps1 game with your ps2 slim. note that it has two speeds, just like a ps1. it has a faster speed for playing ps2 games.

now, almost like the ps1, when the original ps1 game starts to speed up to 2x speed (fast) you make the swap. but instead of quickly speeding up, the ps2 slim speeds up, quickly stops, waits a second or two, then speeds up again. immediatly after it speed up the second time, you make the swap with your backup or diff. region game.

recap.
turn on with original ps1 game in ps2 SLIM, it speeds up, immediatly slows down, speeds up, swap with backup/diff. region ps1 game.

it takes a try or two to time it right, but it totally works.
