I think that games that give you lots to do and are not quick finish games are better for the player. There is nothing like getting a game and being able to finish it the day you get it. I like the ones you have to work to finish and that can take some time to finish.

final fantasy X is a fun game but lacks the freedom the others had such as running around the map. but after playing x x-2 and xii the newer it gets the less roaming freedom there seams to be. roaming the world to find out where you go next was what made final fantasy stick out from the other turn based RPG. and if you want a story line with a lot of turn and twists that keep you in suspence id try final fantasy VII i know the graphics are bad and its old but it is the all time best game ever.

Only real twist that Seven had was little miss whitemage getting a well-deserved Masamune through the back. That and Clouds past and all that but he's emo, so he doesn't count. If you want a game with a good storyline, play Xenosaga. Sure, it's rather mediocre in terms of gameplay, but the storyline is utterly fantastic.
