Default Slim OR Thick type

Which do you prefer as a gamer? A thick or the older version over a slim type ps2 console? Most people say that a thick type is much better because of the heat fan it has and a slim type will overheat much faster? any opinions to this?

I would prefer the newer ones because it has some new games that can be played on it. BTW, we can also play the ps1 games on the Ps2 console. I think that this proves that ps1 hasn’t had any advantage over ps2.

He means the original PS2 model Postman, not the PSX.

I prefer to use the old model, sure, it's a lot bigger and heavier, but it has a built in fan, and some games, like San Andreas, really overheat it in a short time.

They could've put some kind of cooling system on it at least.

I prefer playing PS2 games on my old thick PS2; my friends do have the slim ones but can't play longer without using a cooling system like an electric fan.

i think i saw an older similar thread as this hehe. anyway as i posted there, i prefer bulky. i busted up 2 slims already but my original bulky still works. the only drawback is it's too big to carry around on roadtrips.

yeah i am referring to the stocky ps2 models but has a built in fans which make it ideal for heavy duty gaming unlike the new once which really heats up so fast. Although they came in handy because they take space, i still prefer the bigger ones for game abusing.

They both are fine and there is no risk of overheating. I used to run my ps2 all day and overnight all the time, only stopping to change games! I don't see any mechanical problems at all.

I don't think so? at least you do use a cooling mechanism for the slim edition. I had many ps2 that came on me and played they won't last 3 hours of continuous game play unless you use a fan of a cooling system.

I prefer my old thick one. However, the slim one has some editions that make it worthwhile. But, as for a cooling fan.. I assure you, I abuse the heck out of my PS. XD Never had to use a cooling fan for it. :S

I have the old thick one, which in itself is thinner than alot of consoles out there now. :P

The new one is crazy thin though. I could give it the Apple MacBook Air test and squeeze it into a manilla envelope.
