Thread: Is it safe to attempt to mod my wii?

Hello everyone! Well my extended warrenty is now up on my wii and I want to mod it. Probably for the same reason everyone else does. Games are soooo expensive! But I really need all the help I can get. Is it really that complex to install a mod chip? I can take a computer apart and put it back together with confidence but a computer isnt a wii console either. Which mod chip is the best? So far from what I have read online the wiikey (?) is the best one. When I download my games, so I just download the torrents, unzip if need be and burn to a disk? Do I burn it as a data file? Is it really that easy to do this? Wow Im so very excited about this...Now one thing..where the heck do I find a mod chip without having to buy it online..hmmm

i understand the fact that why you so interested in having your wii modded . Well who doesnt when games are so expensive nowadays. But just a few queries. Why will you be interested in installing a modchip into it ? i understand that your warranty will soon be up but trying to get the right modchip and soldering for the fact takes skills and time.
Have you consider softmodding it instead? If you are interested , i can recommend you on some of the best softmod software application that has done a fairly good for me. =)
