I've been trying to figure out if I should get a Nintendo DS or a Sony PSP. Which one do you think is better value wise and why? I'm in my late teens and I just want something to fool around with in between class and stuff.

Well, the PSP is much easier to do Homebrew on, and it has some great titles on it, as well as a port of Final Fantasy Tactics.
The DS is really innovative, but the homebrew mechanics aren't that great, and needs special hardware which is nowhere to be found for some reason.
For homebrew, get a PSP. For gaming, get a DS.
I don't believe that computer games cause violence but they add an additional amount of creativity to it. - Blanka
I don't know anything about PSPs or homebrew modding, please don't ask me about it.
Its really more fun, the games, at this point, are better for the most part, and definitely more kid friendly as a console.
DS lite is the bestThe games are really good and it has a standby function which is good for gaming between classes. You can also connect to other people with ds' and also online - not sure if the psp can do that...
PSP Slim is the ultimate handheld gaming system. Ive seen movies up for download for the DS on the net and boy.... the picture quality is horrible. And thats a big feature of the PSP is the UMD Movie viewing. Why not spend the extra 60$ or so to get the PSP? besides, with the PSP you can download Nintendo DS emulators that will allow you to play ds games on PSP. Plus PSP holds your music and videos, while DS can do neither
Any questions on videogames? Any general questions you might have? Feel free to ask me. I am online most of my time and I will get an answer for you A.S.A.P.
I specialize in technical support on the following systems:
1. PSP Slim and PSP 1000
2. Playstation 3
3. Playstation 2
4. GameCube
5. Wii
6. Xbox
7. Xbox 360
I starting to think you are from sony.
That is complete bullshit.
Bottom line- Ds is for playing games and Psp is for doing other things.
Also IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLAY DS ON PSP EVEN IF SOMEONE MADE AN EMULATOR. Psp has 1 screen, ds has 2 and one is touch screen, not to mention ds has TWO CPU'S.
1.Thats a lie. Not only do you run the risk of bricking your psp, but if you update your psp YOU CAN NOT PLAY HOMEBREW, atleast not with out running the risk of bricking you psp. For ds, all you need to do is buy a dstt or r4ds which isn't hard to find.1.Well, the PSP is much easier to do Homebrew on, and it has some great titles on it, as well as a port of Final Fantasy Tactics.

I mentioned games earlier, and the games that I absolutely love ( Mario and Zelda), can only be played on the DS. That was enough for me to choose the DS.
I’m going for a PSP because I haven’t seen any DS before. I don’t even know its meaning. Why should I go for something I didn’t anything of? Can anyone show me a picture of DS? It would be good to see one for even if it’s just a picture only.
I would have to go with the Nintendo DS for sure. Mainly just because I am more of a Nintendo fan that of any other consoles. I like that they are more child friendly.
I do hear that PSPs are easier to mod or whatever you call it. But I'm not really into all of that anyway.
And wouldn't you have to be living under a rock to not know anything at all about a DS? Like to have never heard of it. How long have they been around?
No need for the hostile reply. No one was insinuating that you should or would buy something you hadn't heard of before.
