You know when you have the viruses because your computer starts to act funny. Like mine right now [when it starts up it blinks two to three times] You should buy a BUG scanner, right? Well i haven't yet. I been trying trials off the Net and what bugs me is that when they say free trial, make it a FREE ONE not just half ways. Another harsh move is to reinstall and thats the last resort I'll do. So in other words I need some advice.......HHHHHHHEEEEEELLLLLPPPPP

My extern hard disk off 320GB just died...
All my music was on my harddisk

Is there something i can do to restore it?

Download Avast anti-virus free version (it's just as good as the premium version). Then download Spyware Terminator (it's free). Then scan your computer with both from top to bottom. If you can't get the virus removed that way, then rewrite your hard drive. I've had to do that quite a bit when I got a virus, and it was a pain.

Avira or comodo are a couple you might want to check out.

Use AVG and Avira also some others are there to catch your virus from your drives

You can retrieve your data plug your harddisk with another computer as a secondary drive. Pick the data and then you can format the hard drive. But you need to clearn the virus from the data through some reliable antivirus. I think NOD 32 is the best.
