For those of you who have tried both, which game did you like better - Guitar Hero or Rock Band?

I've played Guitar Hero for a while, and I really love it. I've been wanting to try Rock Band, but EVERY store I go to has a non-functioning display! The drum pedal was missing at Wal-Mart, the sticks were broken at Best Buy, another store I can't remember had cracked drum pads. I haven't even been able to try it out!

So is Rock Band worth the outrageous price? It seems like it would be, but that's a BIG investment considering I haven't even been able to try it out yet.

So what do you think? Is Rock Band that much better than Guitar Hero, since you get drums and vocals, too? Is Rock Band worth the price?

Soon you'll have a third option to pick from. Konami is coming out with a rock based game by the name of Rock Revolution. You'll be playing bass or lead guitar. Because we all know bass players get the girls.

I personally love Guitar Hero, but it's a matter of preferance e.g. PS3 or XBOX,both games are unique in their own way but as far as i'm concerned Guitar Hero dominates by far. The second set of fret buttons on the Rock Band guitar are not only annoying but hard to master, and the fret buttons also have a very annoying clicking sound when you push them, yes the guitar is a little more realistic, but why? It's just a game, if you want a real guitar-go buy one. BTW I have completed Guitar Hero and Rock Band on expert.

I have only played Guitar hero for the past year, I really like it. When I played Rock Band I was amazed ! Its so much fun to play on the drums! I didn't want to give my friends their turns. I have only played Guitar hero for the past year, I really like it. When I played Rock Band I was amazed ! Its so much fun to play on the drums! I didn't want to give my friends their turns. But I finally gave my turn, so I played guitar,it is much different, in my opinion, I had no Idea what were the hammer ons and pull offs, I think you just have to get used to it, the songs are great, and its fun to sing.. FUNNY to sing. But on the other side, Guitar hero has the amazing HUD and great game play, I think that Guitar Hero and rock band are both great games. I'd say that Rock Band is slightly better, because it brings you and your friends together. Rock Band Wins on the Multiplayer side, but single player, Guitar Hero wins single Handedly. (these are only my opinions).

Guitar hero is the best for the guitar, but with rock band you have a lot more options and the drums are awesome! I would advise having them both! I love to play guitar hero when I want to play guitar, but I also love to play the drums on rock band it is awesome! This is my opinion.

it depends on your preference,

do you play by yourself mostly? (GH better) Otherwise rock band is good for group, i think rock band also has more customization for your character which i like, but i can't find a group to play with so i chose to stick with guitar hero. I heard the new GH will have drums as well so that would be cool

Sticking with my boys at Harmonix, i like Rock Band more even though the guitar difficulty is slightly lower, sticking with them

Isn't Guitar Hero 4 gonna have the drums? I read something about that in EGM.

Personally, I like Rock Band because unlike what homeboy said earlier about the bass getting the girls, its the drummer who gets the baywatch gal and the hepatitis c...lol j/k.
