Dashcam shows Wisconsin lawmaker Jeffrey wood 5th OWI arrest after falling down durin
The video released Tuesday by Tomah police shows Rep. Jeffrey Wood getting pulled over after officers see his Buick Skylark stop in the middle of a road and then slowly swerve across both lanes of traffic.When Wood is asked to walk a straight line, he stumbles backward into his car before falling down into some grass. An officer helps him up, and Wood is put in handcuffs a short time later. The video also shows police seizing bottles of prescription drugs from Wood.He has apologized for his actions and says he won't seek re-election next year. Amid calls for his resignation and an attempt to expel him, state Rep. Jeff Wood, I-Chippewa Falls, was picked up by the Tomah Police Department under suspicion of operating while under the influence.Wood had been arrested Sept. 23 on a similar offense. He was taken into custody Wednesday after a citizen called reporting erratic driving. The former Republican was also charged with bail jumping for violating the conditions of his original bond.This arrest marks Wood’s fifth for some form of operating while intoxicated.In response to the September arrest, Rep. Steve Nass, R-Whitewater, introduced a measure Oct. 14 to kick Wood out of the Assembly.
