I love the wii! It's a great system. My other fave is the PS2, but the wii is so different with the moving and the games. It's great for gamers who aren't serious gamers like with fifa and all those other games...the wii games are move family orientated and fun.

I have to agree with the "family oriented" part. I would let my children play the Wii (or older Nintendo consoles) long before any others.

I think my favorite thing about the Wii is that I can download all of the old games that I used to love to play. I have all of the old games but my old systems don't work all of the time. Its just hit or miss.

I'd rather just pay the $5 - $10 and know that it would work all of the time.

The only thing I don't like is that when we go to my in-law's we have to take our console and my brother-in-law has to bring his as well if we want to be able to play all the different games we have each downloaded. It would be so much nicer if only one of us had to carry the console and the other could bring just an SD with the games on it.

Thats basically wii is made for a console for fun i mean all consoles are for fun but its like what you said family oriented and its very playable for beginners.

When ever I'm in a console war, everyone IMMEDIATELY removes the Wii from the running, we disregard it as a console.

If your idea of "console" is that of some guy sitting on a couch holding a controller, thumbing a pair of sticks, then you're right. However, if the general sense of a gaming console, the Wii is definitely one. You pop a CD in, the console goes "Oh, hey, this is a game. Let's do stuff." and it begins to play. Personally, I find jumping up and down like a maniac holding that Wiimote to be much more entertaining than sitting on the couch thumbing my sticks.

But look at the price for Wii-fit (what ever that stupid step stool is called) in America, they just raised it another $20 for a white box. Personally, they Wii is a failed console.

Then don't buy the wii-fit - nobody's forcing it down your throat. All you need is a Wiimote and the Wii itself, as long as a few games, to have a great time. I think of it like the Bananaphone - for that, all you need is the Bananaphone. With the Wii, all you need is the Wii and a controller and one game.

Just the though of playing Zelda and the princess crap annoys me, I mean, Zelda was long dead now. Shooter games on the Wii just seem to fail.

Shooter games fail? Explain to me how literally pointing at someone and pulling the trigger on the Wiimote is harder and less satisfying than thumbing your stick in the enemy's direction.

Unless you like to thumb your stick while playing a game or something.

True, but the way it's setup is beyond my comprehension I suppose. I just feel the thumb stick and controller was the way it was meant to be played.
