You are right, sony is more inclined towards the technical aspects of the consoles. Their products are superior in terms of technology. So i also expect more from sony.

Sony all the way. Microsoft had better marketing policies as compared to PS3 but still it was PS3 that came out to be the better one , so Sony has to be the one to look out for.

Microsoft, their biggest sell is online play functionality, which has a 5 year lead on Sony. Online play is the requirement of the seventh generaion gamer, and it is here that Microsoft takes an undeniable lead. Sony is in-experienced in the area of online play, and it's current network leaves much to be desired, with much needed improvements being fixed far too slowly. Sony is only just starting to play catch up with it's first generation of online play (the ps2 version was just plain horrid and doesn't even count.), while with the fall update coming to xbox live, we are now entering Microsoft's 3rd generation of online play.

wrong, PS3 doesn`t have even half of the online features that Xbox 360 has. on PS3 online while in multiplayer, you cannot do any of the following: view friends list, send friend requests, send cross-game invites, have cross-game voice chats, view player profiles, or have someone join. In order to do most of those things (except for cross-game invites and cross-game chat, which are not available at all) you have to quit the game first. Xbox 360 can do all of these things in-game, no quiting required. This proves that Sony still has a long way to go before they manage to seamlessly integrate online functionality like Microsoft has.

and as for the price, 60$ a year seems pretty reasonable to me (that`s less than 7 cents a day) and it`s very affordable. And believe me, you get what you pay for. And you only have to pay if you want to do online multiplayer. if all you want to do is go online and chat, browse the Market Place for the latest demos or rent a movie, than all you need is an Xbox Live Silver subscription which is free. And in my opinion, what if PSN cost 60$ a year? having only half the features of Xbox Live, would YOU subscribe to it?

I agree with him. So what if you have to pay for the online? A 80GB PS3 is $399, a 60GB 360 is only $299 with 2-4 games. Buy a 13 month subscription card and it's still cheaper than a PS3.

You are missing some things like the controller bat. and charger, wireless network addapter that i think can be from $80 to $100(i may be wrong)and even if you have a bluetooth headset for your phone you still have to buy a head set for xbox to use voice chat (granted PS3 does not come with a headset but many people already have them 4 their phones)so with everything you have to buy for the 360 vs. what comes with PS3 its not a very big difference in price. as for the arcade 360 w/o HDD ,POINTLESS.

You don't even need a wireless adapter to play XBL. I don't. A charge & play kit is only $30. The system does come with a headset, so let's see here. Canadian prices: PS3 - $399.99 * 1.13 = $451.99 Xbox 360 - $299.99 * 1.13 = $338.99 13 month Xbox Live card - $59.99 * 1.13 = $67.79 Charge & Play Kit - $29.99 * 1.13 = $33.89 Add them all up: PS3 - $452 Xbox 360 with 13 months of XBL, charge & play, 2-4 games. - $440.67 Just under $12 in savings. And you get 2-4 games. Also, I know of not one person who uses BlueTooth headsets. They can give you brain cancer, and are anywhere from $30 (poor quality) to $150.
