Default First game you ever completed.

Man, that would be hard for me, since I've completed loads of them, and I mean LOADS.

I think the first was Alisia Dragoon, either that or Sonic the Hedgehog. Both fun games, if neither, then it was probably Streets of Rage.

I think either the first one was Metal Gear Solid or Tomb Raider the originals ones.

Ah this one is hard. I mean it's hard to remember cause it was so long ago. Must have been something like Contra. I had tons of those nes games or whatever you call them.

The first one I ever completed was Broderbund's "Karateka" on the Apple IIe. I plowed through what seemed like hundreds of bad guys just be killed by the girl I was supposed to save :P

I totally didn't see that coming, that was classic. I was like "what just happened" ? I didn't get it until I asked a friend about it days later. It turned out that if you approached the girl in a fighting stance you would just die instantly.

I completed it the next time, correctly

My first one was the original Mario on Nintendo. I know it so well I could probably beat it again easily even right now.

My console game career was pitifully short, and I used to play those Atari 2600 games that basically had no, um, conclusion. I would simply get to high levels and get better scores but they had no storylines.

The first game I completed in Apple IIe that had a defined "end game" was MicroProse's NATO Commander. I saved Western Europe from a Warsaw Pact invasion, even though the Reds used tactical nukes and inflicted heavy casualties.

Many of the PC/Windows games I had - and still have - are simulations rather than arcade or shooter games, and many of them I complete after a while.

The first game I finished when I was still in grade school was Gradius on the very first Nintendo console. For the PC I think that will be Star Craft.

The old original Mario was it for me. But I was pretty young and I admit, I had to play it forever before I beat it. I don't think I've ever played it since. Maybe I'll have to download it on the Wii and give it a try now.

I can't remember the first game I finished. A lot of my Commie 64 and Vic-20 games were hacker knockoffs so sometimes you didn't get the full game-play. I remember finishing a karate game, not Kareteka, and I got rid of this last villain -- and the screen suddenly flashed and music and credits rolled. So, I THINK I finished it. But shouldn't you get to SEE something for your efforts?!

Ha!

That comment reminds me of the way Chris Crawford Cold War game, Balance of Power, ended.

In that game, you were either the President of the US or the General Secretary of the Soviet Union and had to gain, I don't know, some sort of world opinion supremacy by getting other countries into your sphere of influence and away from the AI player's, without starting WWIII.

Sometimes, though, WWIII would flare up, but the game then ended with a black screen and a note saying that "no, you won't see mushroom clouds or bodies flying through the air. We do not reward failure!"
