 The Warriors Review
Hey gamers, welcome to the game forum. I was really bored the other day and I decided to rent the Warriors for PS2 even after playing it so many times. And as I played it, I thought man, this really is a great game. So I wanted to do a review on it and let you know what I thought about the game, so lets start with the gameplay.
First of all, the Warriors isnt your ordinary game. It is so brutal its crazy. You literally cut other gang members to peices and blow there skulls open with baseball bats, so its absolutely unreal. The controls are great. Its a free roaming game and RockStar made it feel that way by a long shot. You can run around the entire stage in every level beating up anybody you see. you can grab almost anything in sight and hit someone with the object. The controls are really great though, there easy to control and very smooth. The cutscenes are great to, one of the best parts. In most games cutscenes arent a very big deal to most people, but in The warriors you just have to keep your finger off the X button when the cutscenes come on becasue they rock.
Some of the features of the Warriors is very great. I personally like the free for all fighting mode, where you create a custom gang from any previous gangs and take them into open ended free for all battles to the bone. Its really fun, and thats all there is to it. The fighting system in the Warriors is pretty good to. When you pull off a certain move with a knife or bat, the camera angle with change and show a close up scene where you brutally beat your opponent down. The variety of characters is important as well, and the Warriors definitely has characters. Throughout the game you will face many different rival gangs and face hords of raiding cops. Some characters in the game are just great, they completely addapt from the movie. and last but definitely not least. The storyline. Without the razor sharp storyline, the warriors would be nothing. The storyline to the Warriors is amazing. Every scene from the movie is on the game, and the game has all that and more. Theres also alot of side objectives in the game, like "Protect the meat shop from other gang members" and so on.
I rate this game a 9/10. Awesome gameplay, great cinimatics, just an awesome game
